Privacy Policy: What We Do With Your Story.
You are about to tell us something personal. You should know exactly where it goes first.
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], doing business as Injury Support Illinois ("we," "us," "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit injurysupportillinois.com or contact us by phone, text, email, or web form. Injury Support Illinois is an intake and referral service. We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice.
The short version
- We collect the contact details and injury information you give us, plus basic technical data about your visit.
- We use it to review your inquiry, call you back, and — with your consent — connect you with a licensed Illinois attorney.
- We share it with participating attorneys, who pay us a fee to receive connections. That is our business model, and it is disclosed here, in our footer, and beside every form.
- We do not sell your information to data brokers or advertisers.
- You can ask us to stop contacting you, or to delete your information, at any time.
Information we collect
Information you give us directly. Your name, phone number, email address, city, the date and description of your injury, the type of incident, whether you have received medical treatment, insurance information, and anything else you choose to tell us in a form, call, text, or email. Some of this may include health-related information. You choose how much to share; the more we know, the more useful the call.
Information collected automatically. IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view on our site, approximate location derived from your IP address, and timestamps. We use cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, security, analytics, and advertising measurement. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some of them may break parts of the site.
Consent records. When you submit a form, we store the exact consent language you agreed to, the version of that text, the date and time, the page you submitted from, your IP address, and your browser user agent. We keep this to prove what you agreed to, and to honour it.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
How we use your information
- To review your inquiry and contact you about it by phone, text, or email
- To connect you, with your consent, with a licensed Illinois attorney in our network who handles the type of case you described
- To answer your questions about our intake process, and to tell you who may be able to answer the ones we cannot
- To respond to your questions and provide customer support
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve our website and intake process
- To measure the performance of our advertising
- To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, and protect our rights and the safety of others
Who we share it with, and why
Participating attorneys and law firms. This is the core of what we do. When you ask to be connected, we provide your contact details and the information about your injury to one or more licensed Illinois attorneys in our network who handle that type of case. Those attorneys pay us a fee to receive these connections. We do not evaluate the merits of your claim, and we do not select, recommend, endorse, or rate any attorney. Once your information reaches an attorney, that attorney's own privacy practices and professional obligations apply to it.
Service providers. Companies that host our site, deliver our email and text messages, run our phone system, store our data, provide analytics, and help us prevent fraud. They are permitted to use your information only to provide those services to us.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect someone's safety, investigate fraud, or enforce our Terms.
Business transfers. If our business is sold or reorganised, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information to data brokers, list brokers, or advertisers. Some state privacy laws define "sale" or "sharing" broadly enough that our disclosure of your information to a paying attorney could fall within those definitions. We disclose it plainly for that reason. See "Your choices" below to opt out.
Calls, texts, and TCPA consent
When you check the consent box on our form or ask us to contact you, you agree that we and the attorneys we connect you with may call, text, or email you about your inquiry — including with an automatic telephone dialing system or a prerecorded or artificial voice — at the number you gave us, even if that number is on a Do Not Call list. Consent is not a condition of purchase and is not required for us to help you. You can decline and simply call us instead.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for assistance. You can also tell us by phone or email to stop contacting you, and we will.
Calls to and from our intake line may be recorded or monitored for quality and training. If you would rather not be recorded, tell us at the start of the call.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry and consent records for as long as needed to provide our services, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations — including the record-keeping periods that apply to telephone and text consent. When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it. Attorneys who receive your information keep it under their own retention obligations, which we do not control.
How we protect it
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and limited internal access to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send information you consider highly sensitive by email; ask us for a safer route.
Your choices
Wherever you live, you can:
- Stop the contact. Reply STOP to a text, or tell us by phone or email. We honour opt-outs promptly.
- Ask what we hold. Request a copy of the personal information we have about you.
- Correct it. Tell us if something we hold is wrong.
- Ask us to delete it. We will delete what we are not required to keep by law, and tell you what we must retain and why.
- Opt out of our sharing with paying attorneys. If you tell us not to share your information with participating attorneys, we will honour that — but it means we cannot connect you with an attorney, which is the main thing we do.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law, including the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of targeted advertising, the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights, and the right to appeal a denial. To exercise any of these, email help@injurysupportillinois.com or call (000) 000-0000. We may need to verify your identity first. An authorised agent may act for you with written permission.
Our site honours the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal where we detect it. Your browser may also offer a "Do Not Track" setting; there is no common industry standard for responding to it, so we do not.
Third-party links
Our site links to hospitals, courts, government agencies, and attorney websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before giving them information.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is significant, we will make that clear. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
